To the children, the town was their whole world. To the adults, knowing better, Derry, Maine was just their home town: familiar, well-ordered, a good place to live. It was the children who saw – and felt – what made Derry so horribly different. In the storm drains, in the sewers, It lurked, taking on the shape of every nightmare, each person’s deepest dread. Sometimes It reached up, seizing, tearing, killing…
The adults, knowing better, knew nothing. Time passed and the children grew up, moved away. The horror of It was deep-buried, wrapped in forgetfulness. Until the grown-up children were called back, once more to confront It as It stirred and coiled in the sullen depths of their memories, reaching up again to make their past nightmares a terrible present reality.

My Thoughts
★★ Stars

I want to start off saying, yes, I have seen both movies. I grew up around Pennywise pretty much. I have always had a obsession but could never get in to any of the books Stephen King has written. Until I read The Mist a few years back. Still wasn't sold on trying to read IT again until the new movie was release. Which just made my Pennywise obsession grow by possibly 1 zillion plus more. I had to get the book and read it. I needed answers about Pennywise.

... and it has taken how many months to read this? Lol 3? (I just looked, it took 6!!!!) Holy crap!!!

Yeah this book just wasn't my thing and I got zero answers. In fact, I'm more than let down. I'm disgusted. How is this still out there? It's like a pedophiles dream book! There was hardly any talk about Pennywise but ton of talk about 12-year-old peckers. Though I have finished the book, I still want to throw up. I was warned about how much gore there is (there isn't; least not to me) but no one really warns about all the disgusting dick talk. Sure people will warn you about the end. Which I feel "warning" isn't enough. It needs a blazing "SKIP THESE PAGES" sign. Unless you're in to reading about kids doing that. Then you should really be locked up behind bars because, that's just nasty.

Yeah I'm going to want to vomit for days after finishing this book.

I wanted to love this book. I wanted it to change my life and make me be like, "I NEED TO READ HIS OTHER BOOKS!" But nope. Doubt I'm going to read another.

I feel like this book could have been done in about 200 pages. Everything was filler. Everything bounced back and fourth not making much sense at all. From old days to recent days and I have come to realize Pennywise wasn't the actual monster. Least not to me, Henry was. I get Pennywise controlled him but I was more grossed out and freaked out about Henry than I was of IT.

Speaking of Pennywise/IT... two to two and a half pages. That's it. That is all the screen time it really got. Are you kidding me? and by screen time I mean talking. Sure it was there for a chapter (I'm guessing. There were chapters in chapters and in those chapters was something else. I don't even freaking know) but the fact it only got to talk and explain ONE THING in those few pages annoys the hell out of me.

It's sad when you read the book, but have to ask others the actual story on Pennywise and they have no idea either, they just have theories. Are all of his books like this? (If so, another reason to stay away)

I'm just angry right now. 6 months. Finally able to get answers and I get zero. Just grossed out.
